Maja grew up on Frøya, a small island in Norway. Her dad Paul was already racing when Maja was born and every summer since she was 8 months old she has been going to races all over Europe with her family, under the name Islanders DragRacing Team. When Maja was 9 years old she started racing Junior Dragster and at 16 years old she moved up to Super Comp Dragster. In 2016 she won the European Dragracing Series.
Maja licensed in Top Fuel in 2017 and did her first full season in 2019, driving for RFM. It would not be possible without her local sponsors, the primary ones being Lerøy, Frøy, Salmar and Marine Construction.
During her first season she reset the European record twice, and ended up as a runner up in the European FIA Championship
