US Crew-chief Mike Domagala comments on helping out with RFM25.08.2011

US Crew-chief Mike Domagala has been helping out in the RF Motorsport pits in Hockenheim, and will also be with us at the European Finals. Mike comments:

"What I'm trying to help with is to get Jari's car figured out. Basically when all the cars are running fine then Rune has time to over see all of them. However when one of the cars is struggling then it takes up much more valuable time to try to figure it out as well as run the other cars. With that said Rune has asked me to help out to get Jari's car figured out and the other cars still get equal attention.

"In my opinion the problem with Jari's car is in the chassis. It's different so the set up on Risto's car does not work in Jari's car. I think we were making improvements with Jari's car but we only had four runs. I was confident that if the car made it to 2 seconds it would have made it all the way on the final run. However a combination of problems occurred and the car from the startup till the staging and the car didn't make it 60 ft.

"What I hope to achieve is to make full runs at Santa Pod. We have more information now and I am going to be flowing the clutch controller here in the US before I come back to give us more information on the flow settings. Hockenheim has my first experience on a all asphalt track so its an adjustment for me as well. I am overlaying some of Risto's runs with Jari's to see how close we are with the driveshaft speed as well as other things.

"Hopefully things will work as planned and we can have well performing cars in Santa Pod.

"A special thanks to Rune and all the guys on the crews for this opportunity."
